Save cash – buy second hand
Want to save money on baby clothes, toys and accessories? Make sure you try a second hand market.
As I’ve written before, baby items can be very expensive. And for most of it, they’re in it or using it for such a small amount of time. So why buy new for all your baby items?
This weekend, I discovered Little Pickles Markets. There are quite a few of them around (check their website) but this was a great way to get a large bundle of clothes for Lily, at a fraction of the price. Whilst I am an advocate for searching through Facebook for bargains, it is great to be able to look at items before purchasing.
We managed to grab quite a few bargains:
Long sleeve babygrows for the winter
Harry Potter clothes (just for fun!)
Jumpers for the winter
A baby door bouncer (£2 – total bargain)
Door entry was £1.50 per adult, and we spent around £13 on items.
With the cost of living still increasing, it makes sense to save where you can with a new baby. I can hugely recommend these types of markets. Especially in the winter, when all the boot fairs are closed. You can apply to be a seller at these events (this one is £12.50 for a table) so watch this space, I might give that a go next year.
